Using traditional lettering techniques, Josh creates signs and murals, such as motivational quotes for office walls, house numbers, branding on cars and shop signs. His most memorable jobs have been painting a timeline of battles and kings in a haunted castle and a leather racing suit for a skateboarder.
“I love working on street,” says Josh. “People love to joke around around with me, telling me I’ve spelt my sign wrong. If only I had a pound for every time someone says that!”
Josh’s signwriting courses take place in his workshop at his beautiful Dartmoor farmhouse near Chagford.

✭✭✭✭✭ We found Josh's workshop through the The Dartmoor Artisan Trail website, and used it to anchor our trip to Devon. We were looking forward to including some creativity into our holiday, and we are so pleased that we did. We absolutely loved the workshop - Josh's passion for sign writing and the knowledge that he passed on to us about not only sign writing, but typography, classic art, and more made for a fantastic morning. Josh even gave us some excellent tips on how we could try it for ourselves at home. We now have two lovely letters on our wall back at home in Copenhagen.
